iZotope officially discontinued the Audiolens referencing app and moved its core tracking features directly into the new Tonal Balance Control 3 standalone application.
Quick Take
iZotope stopped all new sales of the Audiolens desktop app
Existing owners can still use and authorize the software via the Legacy Downloads page
The company guarantees critical maintenance updates until March 18, 2027
Technical support lasts for exactly 12 months after your original download date
The track referencing features are now exclusive to the Tonal Balance Control 3 app
iZotope shut down Audiolens and removed it from their active store. You can no longer buy the standalone application. The company integrated the audio capture and referencing features into their new Tonal Balance Control 3 app.

If you already own Audiolens, the software will not disappear from your computer. You can keep using it without any forced deactivations. If you buy a new studio machine, you can find the installer on the iZotope Legacy Downloads page. You authorize it using your existing serial number found in your account history.
iZotope promised to release critical bug fixes for the app until March 18, 2027. Developers will stop testing the software on new operating systems after that date. The current system requirements lock the app to macOS Ventura through Sequoia and Windows 10 through 11.
Technical support remains available for users who downloaded the app within the last year. That support window closes exactly 12 months from your specific download date.
iZotope stated this move helps them consolidate older products and focus on new development. Your existing Audiolens reference targets will still communicate with current plugins like Ozone 11, Neutron 5, and Nectar 4.
My Perspective
This announcement created a wave of negative hype across the production community. I completely agree with the frustration.
iZotope released Audiolens in late 2022. Discontinuing a paid utility app after just a few years severely damages consumer trust.
Audiolens was a cheap and easy way to capture streaming audio targets for Ozone Elements or Standard users. Now that workflow lives entirely inside Tonal Balance Control 3. This feels like a calculated move to force expensive ecosystem upgrades.
If you do not own the pricey Advanced bundles, you now have to buy TBC 3 to keep your referencing workflow alive in the future. We are tired of buying standalone tools only to see them abandoned and locked behind bigger bundle paywalls shortly after.
